YOUNGSTOWN...Veterans' Outreach, a non-profit charitable organization, recently received a donation of $10,000 from the Home Savings Charitable Foundation to provide assistance to veterans throughout Columbiana, Mahoning, Trumbull, Portage, Huron, and Seneca counties in Ohio, and Beaver County in Pennsylvania.
According to Robert Julian, vice president, Veterans' Outreach, founded in 1994, is a unique service organization comprised of veterans and non-veterans, all sharing the common goal to serve and honor veterans.
"Veterans contact us daily with problems concerning housing, utilities, auto repair, and a host of other needs," he said. "Each has unique needs that are identified through personal interviews. We endeavor to use our program resources to offer a hand up, not just a hand out, to benefit veterans and, in turn, communities and this great nation. These fine Americans served our country and we owe them our gratitude, support and our help."
In the majority of cases, Julian said they are able to provide some kind of immediate relief.
"We are so very grateful to the Home Savings Charitable Foundation for this generous contribution," he said. "It will help us to better meet the needs of area veterans."
"We believe that all veterans, regardless of whether they served in active duty or here at home, are entitled to our appreciation, and we humbly honor them for their selfless sacrifice and service," said Darlene Pavlock, Executive Director of Home Savings Charitable Foundation.
